It’s always a nice surprise when an imagined blasted finish turns out to be smooth, especially when the grain works so well with the shape. The sumptuous shape flows and undulates organically with the bowl slightly ovalised to reveal a little extra birdseye.
The black and orange contrast stain sits perfectly with the brown Cumberland stem, each enhanced by the complementing accent ring.
Made from Mimmo Italian briar, with acrylic and Matterhorn Corian banding. The stem is SEM brown Cumberland with a Delrin tenon. The mortice has a brass reinforcing tube beneath the banding that runs into the briar of the shank.
