Bog Oak Dublin with Snakewood
The muted orange and blues of the ebonite match and complement the hues of the pencil-thin snakewood shank, which, along with the blasted bog oak, lend the pipe a monochromatic look. The texture of the bog oak bowl juxtaposed with the smooth skinny shank offers a lovely tactile experience, and although its weight of 38 grams is good for clenching, it should be noted that most of the weight is in the bowl at the far end of the pipe. The stainless steel reinforcing tube that runs the length of the shank also serves as the reverse tenon, making it surprisingly strong for such a long, thin shank.
The bowl is morta, and the stem is Japanese orange swirl ebonite with a Delrin-lined mortise. The bands are made from orange and blue Japanese ebonite and the shank is snakewood. It has a stainless steel reinforcing tube reverse tenon
